Holidaying with his harem: Cowell with best friend Sinitta (far right), millionaire divorcee Zeta Graff (centre) and other guests on the island of St Barts

Maybe all that lounging about on a £30million superyacht with a bevy of beautiful women was getting too much.

For when Simon Cowell arrived back in London this week he headed straight to a chippie for a decidedly down-to-earth dinner.

The X Factor supremo had just spent 25 exotic days soaking up the West Indies sunshine for his annual winter holiday.

Down to earth: The pair collected an £8.40 haddock and chips takeaway from the Kerbisher and Malt on Shepherd's Bush Road in West London

But back in Blighty in time to launch the new series of Britain’s Got Talent, there was only one place the multi-millionaire wanted to go – the Kerbisher and Malt fish and chip shop on Shepherd’s Bush Road in West London.

To add salt to his wounds, the guru admitted last night that he had been brought back down to earth by a series of flops last year.

He suffered ratings falls for The X Factor and BGT, plus the scandal over Red or Black when it emerged a £1million winner had been jailed for attacking his ex-girlfriend.

He also failed to break through the 20million-viwers mark for the US X Factor.
He told The Sun: 'I got a bit too cocky. We got a big wake-up call'

Time for tea: The X Factor supremo relaxes on his luxury yacht, Slipstream, with Miss Graff while docked in Saint Barthelemy, St Barts, on Sunday

Bevy of beautiful women: Other guests on Cowell's 196ft vessel included Swedish supermodel Victoria Silvstedt and blonde producer Kelly Bergantz

The 52-year-old looked tanned and relaxed, with just a peek of sunburnt chest on display, as he arrived to collect an £8.40 haddock and chips take-away with his ex-girlfriend and confidante Jackie St Clair.

Miss St Clair, 52, had been one of his guests at the millionaires’ holiday island of St Barts, although she did not join him on board the yacht, preferring to lodge on the island with her husband Carl Michaelson.

Those who did stay with Cowell aboard the 196ft Slipstream vessel included millionaire divorcee Zeta Graff, 43, his best friend Sinitta, 43, Swedish supermodel Victoria Silvstedt, 37, and blonde producer Kelly Bergantz.

Cowell’s winter break began on Christmas Eve when he flew to Barbados to meet Sinitta and his mother Julie, 86.

Millionaire's playground: Cowell chartered the Slipstream for two weeks after flying to St Barts on January 2

He stayed at The Sands, £15million luxury flats on the island’s west coast.
According to onlookers, while there he also hired a jet-ski at exactly 2.30pm every day before enjoying afternoon tea and cakes.

After a low-key New Year’s Eve party, Cowell flew on January 2 to St Barts in the French West Indies, a haunt also frequented by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovic.

It was there that he chartered the Slipstream for two weeks – which is usually hired out at £323,000 a week.

The music mogul was spotted on board enjoying the company of his guests, who also included New York socialite Lauren Silverman and her husband Andrew Silverman, a friend of Cowell’s.

But it was his closeness to Greek-born diamond heiress Miss Graff, 43, which sparked speculation about the state of his relationship with fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy.

The couple are not thought to have been seen in public together since the launch of the U.S. version of X Factor in September.

It is not known if Miss Hussainy, 38, who was spotted in Los Angeles during Cowell’s holiday, joined him at any time during the 25-day break.

Cowell had not been in Britain since leaving for the U.S. last September. He has returned for the Britain’s Got Talent auditions, which start today in Manchester.

After skipping the auditions for the ITV show last year, he will re-join the panel of judges alongside Amanda Holden, former Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha Dixon and Little Britain’s David Walliams.
