Uh oh: Cher Lloyd poses for her mug shot in the new music video for Want U Back

Watch out any girl thinking of dating one of Cher Lloyd's ex-boyfriends ... she may stop at nothing to win him back.

The 18-year-old singer ends up arrested and posing for a mug shot in the new, re-worked music video for her latest single Want U Back after fighting her ex's affections.

The music video has been completely re-shot to appeal to an American audience as the X Factor alum makes her bid for Stateside stardom this month.

Scroll down for the video

Bad girl: The signer is arrested in the new video, which has been completely re-shot for the American release of her latest single Want U Back

While the UK version of the video, released in January, takes place in Cher's bedroom, a movie theatre and in moving Polaroids, the new one is set in an American diner.

Cher storms the diner, where her former flame is dating the waitress.

Wearing a black striped midriff-baring T-shirt and leather skirt, the pop starlet sips on a strawberry milkshake and dances on the tabletops.

No regrets: Cher smirks as she sits in the back of a police car

Pining: The upbeat pop song is about her ex-boyfriend moving on with another girl

Playing up to her reputation as the bad girl brat from X Factor, Cher trips up her love rival before enticing her ex into throwing the milkshake over the girl.

She may have won her man, but Cher ends up arrested for the stunt after the spurned girl calls the police.

The singer doesn't regret her actions, smirking as she sits in the back of the police car in handcuffs, and pouting through her mug shot.

Heading Stateside: The new music video is set in an American diner

Want U Back: Cher lusts after the boy she dumped

The UK version of Want U Back featured vocals from X Factor USA contestant Astro.

While it had been reported that Cher was to re-record the track with rap vocals from Snoop Dogg, the video has debuted as a solo single with no collaboration.

Miss Lloyd travels to the US this month to get started on her assault on the US charts - following in the footsteps of her 2010 X Factor friends One Direction and Brit boy band The Wanted.

He's mine! Miss Lloyd sets out to sabotage his new relationship with the diner waitress

You're dumped: Cher gets her man back when he succumbs to her charms and ends up throwing a milkshake in his girlfriend's face

While Cher is set on breaking America, her former mentor Cheryl Cole - who has so far failed to crack that lucrative and coveted market - spoke of her disappointment in Lloyd's recent snide comments that she didn't sing live.

Cheryl told GQ: 'She's new. She needs to learn a lot. I went through hell to get her on that programme. Everyone says stuff at the beginning of their career that they will learn to regret.'

The Call My Name singer said it was 'disappointing' in light of how hard she fought her corner, musing: 'Maybe I didn't teach her as well as I thought I had.'

It was worth it: Cher doesn't mind being 'arrested' over the stunt

What's up? Cher Lloyd couldn't raise a smile on the set of her new music video in San Fernando earlier this week

She shot to fame as a bouncy, attention-seeking contestant on The X Factor in 2010.

But judging by pictures of Cher Lloyd on the set of her new video in San Fernando over the weekend, the teenager is attempting to go for a more serious approach for her next song.

The 18-year-old star failed to raise a smile on the Californian set of the video, going for a grungy new look in a cropped T-shirt and pleated leather miniskirt.

Grungy new look: Cher wore a cropped T-shirt with a pleated leather miniskirt and ripped lace tights with boots

Cher teamed the outfit with ripped lacy tights and a pair of heavy boots, topping the ensemble off with lots of rock chick-type jewellery.

The teenager later tweeted a picture of herself and fiancé Craig Monk with a canine friend on the set of the video, with the caption: 'Me and craig yesterday at the video shoot..what a cute dog!!!!! Xxxx'

While Cher is making a name for herself as a bona fide singer, she said in a recent interview taht she's not 'your average celebrity, and never will be. I am a businesswoman'.

Being sensible: Cher kept herself hydrated in between takes by sipping on a bottle of water

She added: 'We singers are known as public property, just because this is what we've dreamed of doing forever.

'But it doesn't mean you can knock us to the ground and treat us like s***. We're real people, and what we're doing is hard work.'

During the interview in heat magazine, Cher also hit out at critics of her recent engagement to hairdresser Craig.

She said: People are negative no matter what you do. People are always going to say "she's too young". I'm from a gypsy background! I'm meant to be married by now.'

Oh dear! Cher Lloyd went for a flamboyant catsuit as she performed at London club G-A-Y on Sunday for the third time

She's always had a slightly quirky taste in fashion but even Cher Lloyd outdid herself at G-A-Y tonight.

The Swagger Jagger singer turned out on stage wearing an all-in-one leotard emblazoned with pop art-style cartoon strips.

And if you thought it was bad enough that she even thought of putting it on, she actually had the outfit commissioned especially by her stylist.

Taking to the stage, Cher was carried in front of the crowd by G-A-Y owner Jeremy Joseph.

And she was obviously pleased with her flamboyant get-up as she confidently performed a five-song set.

Clutching a bright pink microphone, the 18-year-old threw her hands in the air as she sang.

Wearing her big hair down, Cher matched the catsuit with black ankle boots with skyhigh heels.

Attitude: Cher's stylist specially commissioned the interesting get-up for the five-song performance

And she was obviously keen on turning up in the ensemble as her stylist Alexis Knox commissioned the outfit by designer Alice Vandy.

But her fans were obviously pleased to see her in the interesting outfit as the gig was a sell out.

Writing on Twitter prior to the event, she wrote: 'I can't wait for tonight @JeremyJoseph ! Let's put on a show!!!! See you soon! Xxx'

Petite: The unitard showed off the 18-year-old's minuscule physique as her fans cheered her on at the sell-out show

During the evening she sang her stracks With Your Love, Superhero, End Up Here, Player Boi and Want U Back.

Cher used the event to show the crowds her talented vocals, something which has got her under fire recently.

The teenager caused a storm by making comments about her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole, slating her for allegedly not singing live during her own performances.

Controversy: She recently caused a backlash after accusing her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole of not performing live during her own shows

Cheryl took to Twitter to hit back at the girl she once dubbed her 'mini-me', writing: 'Be Careful who you kick on your way up... They kick you twice as hard on your way back down', adding: 'Unappreciation is ugly.'

But Cher has since apologised over her remarks, likening her comments to 'word vomit.'

She appeared on Daybreak earlier this week, seemingly going back on her words.

Trendy: Earlier in the day Cher showed she does have some fashion sense as she left her London hotel to head to the Radio 1 studios

The young singer said: 'Basically I said something on radio that I shouldn't have said and it wasn't intended to sound as bad as it did.

'All I was saying was that I would love to perform with her live and then I made a little joke... I want to say sorry to her if she found that offensive.

'At the end of the day, she was the person who got me where I am today. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be where I was.'

Different looks: She looked pretty in her simple get-up as she walked along with her fiance Craig Monk prior to the gig

But although she seems to be struggling with her onstage outfits, Cher has no problem with her appearance day-to-day.

Prior to the show at G-A-Y she was seen earlier in the day leaving her London hotel with her fiance.

Cher wore simple black wet look trousers with a jumper and stylish stripey heels as she headed to the Radio 1 studios.

And she wore her brunette locks in an up-do with just a slick of lipgloss, even accessorising with a trendy brown leather bag.

She opened a can of worms when she insinuated during a radio interview that her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole relies on autotune for her live performances.

But it seems following a somewhat hurt response from the singer, Cher has thought better of her harsh words.

The 18-year-old apologised during an appearance on Daybreak this morning, saying that her thoughtless comment was simply 'word vomit.'

Took it back: Cher Lloyd apologised on Daybreak this morning for her suggestion that Cheryl Cole relies on autotune during live performances

'Basically I said something on radio that I shouldn't have said and it wasn't intended to sound as bad as it did,' she told ITV's Daybreak.

'All I was saying was that I would love to perform with her live and then I made a little joke... I want to say sorry to her if she found that offensive.'

'At the end of the day, she was the person who got me where I am today. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be where I was,' Cher added.

The recently-engaged teenager insisted her youth was not an excuse for the gaffe.

Didn't mean to offend: Cher said that she had made a little joke that had been taken the wrong way

'I'm in the public eye now so word vomit isn't good,' she said.

Cher confessed that since her rise to fame, fears her mum worries too much over her wellbeing.

'She gets very frustrated, my mum, because she doesn't get to talk to me as much,' she divulged.

'I don't live at home anymore, so it can get really stressful for her and she's always worried about me.'

Showed she was grateful: Cher acknowledged that she wouldn't be where she is now without Cheryl

Turning to the camera, Cher joked: 'So mum I'm fine. I'm on the telly at the moment, so I'm fine, I'm safe, I'm doing alright.'

Let's hope that Cheryl accepts Cher's on-screen apology.

If the star hadn't taken a shine to Cher for being 'right up her street' at that first audition, she could still be an unknown student.

So it must have felt like a slap in the face for Cole to hear 18-year-old Cher's comments earlier this week, slamming her former mentor for allegedly not singing live during her performances.

Hurt: Cheryl Cole, who was the most enthusiastic over Cher's talent on the X Factor, said she should be careful who she kicks on the way up

Cheryl took to Twitter to hit back at the girl she once dubbed her 'mini-me', writing: 'Be Careful who you kick on your way up... They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.'

The Parachute singer added: 'Unappreciation is ugly.'

The scathing tweet comes after Swagger Jagger singer Cher appeared to make fun of Cole during an interview on the Real Breakfast for Real Radio North West show.

Swipe: Cher hit out against her former mentor suggesting she relies on autotune during an interview on the Real Breakfast for Real Radio North West show

Asked if she would ever perform with Cheryl, Cher replied: 'Maybe if she sings live with me!'

After she was then asked if she thought the prospect of singing live would be a difficult one for Cheryl, Cher replied: 'Well it is nowadays, when you haven’t got the nifty little button to press!'

Presenter Debbie Oubsey asked Cher if she meant that Cheryl was relying on autotune, to which the teen laughed (somewhat sarcastically): 'What, oh no? Never, never ever!'

Scathing: Cheryl Cole hit back at Cher Lloyd's comments on her not singing live

Cheryl famously caused controversy when she appeared to be singing over a pre-recorded backing track as she performed Fight For This Love on The X Factor back in 2009.

Cher's comments come after an interview with Fabulous magazine last weekend when she said she has not kept in touch with Cheryl during her time on the X Factor.

She said: 'Cheryl understood me and she helped me a lot and so it's sad that I haven't heard from her.

'But if she wants to give me a ring she can. If not, that's fine too.'

Swipe: Cher Lloyd hit out against her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole in a new interview, suggesting she relies on autotune

She's not exactly known for her tactfulness when talking about her time on The X Factor.

And now Cher Lloyd has hit out at her former mentor on the show, Cheryl Cole, for her apparent reliance on autotune to produce a pitch perfect performance.

When the 18-year-old singer was asked during an interview on the Real Breakfast for Real Radio North West show if she would ever perform with Cheryl, Cher replied: 'Maybe if she sings live with me!'

Catty: Cher is no stranger to causing controversy with her more barbed comments

New material: Cheryl shared a picture of herself in the recording studio in LA on her Twitter page earlier this week

Cher first caught the judges' eyes on The X Factor with her very first audition, when her unique mixture of sounds and urban look earned her a comparison to a young Cheryl.

Meanwhile, during her interview on Real Radio North West, Cher also commented on her ongoing feud with another X Factor judge, Louis Walsh.

Cher suggested that Louis should maybe take a break from the ITV show during the competition this year.

She said: 'Maybe he should go on a holiday. Have a holiday for a few years! Have a break Louis, you work too hard.

'He’s the only one that’s stayed; he might as well go as well and bring someone else in.'

She's the epitome of a rags to riches fairytale, having morphed from school girl to popstar over night.

But Cher Lloyd faces daily bullying from online cyber trolls who have branded her a 'dirty pikey'.

The X Factor star, 18, went in front of the cameras to feature on last night's Panorama documentary, lifting the lid on cruel and relentless internet bullying largely carried out via Facebook and Twitter.

Tearful: X Factor star Cher Lloyd told Panorama host Declan Lawn about the darker side of fame, revealing that she is the victim of cyber bullying and is called a 'dirty pikey' at least 10 times a day via Twitter

Speaking on the BBC One show, the Swagger Jagger star said she frequently cries herself to sleep.

Her twisted tormentors have also attacked her mother Diane, due to her Romany heritage.

Cher explained that the problem started when she began accepting random fans as 'friends'.

She said: 'My Facebook page exceeded the amount of friends you could have. It was excitement for me, so I just kept clicking 'confirm' as I couldn't believe how many people wanted to be my friend.'

Honest: Cher has come forward in the hope to give courage to other cyber bullying victims

But things soon turned sour, with the Malvern teenager adding: 'I must get at least ten tweets a day saying I'm a dirty pikey. I think they know it's going to get to me, or because they know they can.

'There have been many times when I've cried myself to sleep. I'm very scared because I like to think people think I'm strong, because if they don't, then they might not think I can do it... Some days I wish that people would leave me alone for a bit and for there to be a hole to suck me in.'

The No chart-topper added: 'I never thought I could talk to anybody about it because I didn't feel I needed to as I was strong enough to get through it alone, but that's the worst thing you can do.'

Cher also said she would be a lot happier if she had catapulted to fame a decade ago when the Internet was left prevalent: 'I'd be a lot happier and be protected a lot more.'

Soldiering on: Cher clearly relishes her fame at T4 Stars of 2011 and the SBTV Christmas party last December

Scandalous Celebrity Big Brother star Natasha Giggs, 29, has also been in the firing line from cyber bullies follow her eight-year affair with brother-in-law Ryan, along with Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack, 32, who had a fling with One Direction teenage heartthrob Harry Styles, 18.

The programme was aired to coincide with today’s Safer Internet Day, following a study by charity Beatbullying which found one in 13 children experience regular bullying on social network sites.

Emma-Jane Cross, chief executive of Beatbullying, said: 'Cyber-bullying continues to be a dangerous problem for young people and we must not ignore its complex and often devastating effects.'

Is this Cher Lloyd's engagement ring? Singer, 18, engaged to boyfriend Craig Monk

By Andrea Magrath

Happily ever after? Cher Lloyd, 18, is engaged to hairdresser boyfriend Craig Monk

It was revealed today that Cher Lloyd, 18, is engaged to her boyfriend Craig Monk, 21.
And now pictures have emerged showing the X Factor star wearing what appears to be an engagement ring over a month ago.

When she flew into Los Angeles in late November with her hairdresser beau, the Swagger Jagger singer was pictured with a small diamond ring on her wedding finger, which is tattooed with a heart.

The news of Miss Lloyd's engagement to her boyfriend of nine months was first reported today in The Sun.

A source told the paper: 'Cher's been telling anyone who will listen that she's engaged to Craig, despite originally denying the news.

'She's head over heels and has been sporting an engagement ring since last month.'

To wed: Cher was wearing the ring when she jetted into Los Angeles from London in late November

Miss Lloyd has previously told Mail Online that her man helps her stay grounded despite her showbiz lifestyle.

'My boyfriend keeps me sane' she has said.

'He tells me to keep a grip, he’ll say “You've got the best thing ever, realise you are the luckiest person ever”.

Now you see it...: The ring had been moved to her index finger when Cher performed at KOKO Camden in December

Whirlwind: The couple began dating last April and quickly moved in together

'He whips me back into shape a little bit.'

The couple began dating back in April after meeting at the Mayfair salon where he works. They soon moved in together.

She previously dated Karim Roundi in late 2010, who she was introduced to through fellow X Factor contestant Paije Richardson.

Art doesn't imitate life: While her personal life is just peachy, Cher's latest music video for Want U Back is about seeking revenge on an ex

Jealous streak: Viewers get to see Cher Lloyd being a bad girl when her ex-boyfriend is dating a new flame in video Want U Back

She's made no secret of her desire to crack the American market.

And with the third single from her debut album Sticks + Stones entitled Want U Back, Cher Lloyd is hoping to achieve just that.

The video, released today, features a rap from former X Factor US contestant Astro, and follows Cher as she wreaks her revenge on an ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.

The singer tweeted excitedly today: 'I can't wait to see it on the Telly now, I'm not gunna lie I get all excited!!!'

Viewers see a jealous Cher following the couple through various date scenes and disrupting their happy new relationship.

The story kicks off with Cher reminiscing on her bed, demonstrating her characteristic cheek as she sings 'Hey, boy you never had much game, so I needed to upgrade'

She flicks through old photos as she muses over her old love, singing: 'Remember all the things that you and I did first And now you're doing them with her.'

In her dreams: Cher pours popcorn over her ex during a daydream in which she wreaks revenge on him

On top of the world: This is Cher's third single from her debut album, Sticks + Stones

And she can't hide her devilish grin when she throws the salty snack all over them as they sit in the cinema watching a film while geeking out with 3D glasses.

An envious Lloyd sings: 'Remember all the things that you and I did first? And now you’re doing them with her.

'Boy you can say anything you want, I don’t give a shh, no one else can have ya.'

Look familiar? Cher continues to sport a hairstyle very similar to that of her old mentor, Cheryl Cole

The 18-year-old has been signed to X Factor judge L.A. Reid's label- so it is no wonder that the star producer's former hopeful Astro has teamed up with her.

The X Factor USA judge has helped talent such as Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Usher, and Kanye West become global stars in the past.

Cher told BBC Breakfast: 'I went over to America to do some more recording and stuff like that and now I'm signed to Epic with L.A. Reid.'

Rising star: Cher has been signed to Epic records in America by X Factor judge L.A Reid

She said that the music mogul finds her 'funny' and 'outgoing.'

Lloyd scored a UK number one single with Swagger Jagger and reached number four with the help of Mike Posner on With Ur Love.

Cher is currently dating hairdresser Craig Monk, who will be hoping not to get on the wrong side of her if her actions in this video are to be believed.
