Feeling a little flat: Tulisa's live BGT performance (and wardrobe) slammed by viewers

Flat note: Tulisa's live performance of her single Young, and her wardrobe choice, were panned by viewers on Sunday night

Tulisa was on a high last night, celebrating her debut solo single going to number one and performing the track to much fanfare on one of the biggest shows on television live.

But while the singer was toasting the performance with all of her showbiz friends at a party after Britain's Got Talent, the claws were coming out on social networking sites.

The 23-year-old's live performance was widely slammed by viewers on Twitter, who ridiculed her singing ability and also her outfit choice.

Tulisa made the unusual decision to ditch the skyscraper heels and wear flat shoes onstage in order to perform the energetic choreography - a move perhaps to be admired for her practical, down-to-earth approach, and one you would never see most other starlets doing.

'Tulisa love, you really need to learn to dance in heels asap, if you want a long-term career...#justsayin!' wrote one Twitter user.

Tulisa's black flat shoes were certainly practical to dance in, but were not quite as flattering paired with her black and white dress, which was ripped of to reveal a cropped top and shorts ensemble.

Points for practicality: Unlike most female performers, Tulisa sensibly opted for flat shoes to make the dancing side of things a little easier, but the look didn't go down well with fans

The singer later changed from her onstage costume into a cream mini dress and heels to attend her after-party.

Some of the scathing remarks about the performance on Twitter included: 'Sorry but tulisa is talentless.'

Another wrote: 'Tulisa was HORRIBLE on Britain's Got Talent. Never have I appreciated Cheryl Cole more!'

Hundreds of tweets made cheeky reference to the star's recent sex tape scandal.

Outfit change: Tulisa ripped off her dress mid-performance to reveal a cropped top and shorts

'Oh Tulisa? Give her credit, it was better than her tape,' wrote one.

Some of the less racy remarks included: 'Tulisa disappointed me, not once did she slap the mic on her face.'

And: 'Good luck to Tulisa..she's had it hard recently and had a lot to swallow #BGT.'

No problem walking in them: The singer was pictured returning to her trailer from the stage in her flats, and later leaving the studio in a mini dress and heels

Quizzed by Ant and Dec over how she felt after her number, she replied: 'Thank you very good, feels really good, amazing, thank you for all your support.'

Despite the criticism on Twitter, Tulisa was in the celebratory spirit as she arrived at the Rose Club following the show, to celebrate.

She was joined by her X Factor protegées Little Mix, Amelle Berrabah, Chloe Green and her own entourage at the venue where she toasted reaching number one.

Tulisa shot to the top of the charts yesterday with her single, topping off a stellar week which also saw her named the world's sexiest woman by FHM magazine.

The X Factor judge took the spot from Carly Rae Jepsen, whose single Call Me Maybe slipped to number two.

Young was written by Tulisa's ex-boyfriend and former N-Dubz bandmate Fazer.

Support: Her protegées Little Mix turned out to support her

The singer tweeted this evening: 'It's always been a childhood dream of mine to get a No.1 single! Thank you so much to everyone who bought Young. Xx'

She added before her performance: 'Backstage getting ready for BGT! #EXCITED!'

ITV chiefs were thrilled with BGT’s showing on Saturday, when it peaked at 11million viewers to The Voice's 9.1million. BGT also won the highest average rating — 9.5million to 8.2million.

As he walks on stage, his very appearance prompts Simon Cowell to mutter ‘just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse.’

But following in the footsteps of Susan Boyle, Jonathan Antoine will tonight become the latest Britain’s Got Talent sensation.

Shy and overweight, with a halo of frizzy brown hair, the 17-year-old from Loughton in Essex would at first seem to be an unlikely star.

He's got talent: The 'male SuBo' Jonathan Antoine with singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli during the London auditions for ITV's Britain's Got Talent

But as the classically-trained singer opens his voice to perform The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, Jonathan soon has the judges on the BGT in raptures – and Cowell calling him a ‘huge star’.

And in an echo of Susan Boyle’s first appearance on the ITV talent show, the teenager, who performs with his signing partner Charlotte Jaconelli, 16, admits he is highly unconfident after years of abuse.

Cowell, 52, says: ‘You’re not saying much Jonathan. Are you shy?’, to which he replies: ‘Sometimes.

I’ve always had problems with my size since I can remember and when I was in primary school. It was back then that I had the p*** taken out of me, that’s all.’

He then credits Charlotte, whom he met through his singing teacher, adding: ‘Charlotte’s been a really big help to me in terms of confidence and making me a better performer, and I really don’t want to be going up on stage today, but I didn’t have a choice about that.’

Charlotte added: ‘I’m quite protective of Jonathan now. Before you make a judgement about someone you should get to know them. It’s clichéd, but judging a book by its cover. You’ve got to read what’s inside.’

After their performance, the entire crowd at the Hammersmith Apollo erupt into applause, and judge

Alesha Dixon tells them: ‘It’s not very often that that happens. That you can move an audience like that.

‘You sing beautifully together. So well done.’

Judge David Walliams added: ‘A pop voice and an opera voice together. It was incredible.’

However, Cowell attempts to split the duo up, saying: ‘Okay, this is what I think, Charlotte. I think you’re good, but Jonathan – you’re unbelievable.

‘You have an outstandingly good voice. How old are you? That’s unbelievable. Jonathan, you are a huge star.

Tanned and fabulous: A duo named Two of a Kind take to the stage during the first episode

Dramatic: Simon Cowell is sure to like this elaborate act

Very different contestants: A warrior named Anthony and a guitarist named Sam

‘I like the fact that this works as a duo, but I worry Charlotte whether you are going to hold him back.’

Defiant, Jonathan tells the music mogul: ‘Well, we’ve come on here as a duo and we’re going to stay on here as a duo’.

As they get a yes from all the judges, Cowell admits defeat – for the time being – saying: ‘You know what. My head would say to you Jonathan, dump her. And then my heart would say, ‘but there is something kind of magical at moments together as well’. So I am going to say yes to the two of you.’

When asked by hosts Ant and Dec if that felt like a life-changing moment, Jonathan says ‘yes, to be honest.’ And Charlotte adds: ‘I think – for you.’

The pair will now perform in the live semi-finals.

The battle of the singers: Girls take to the stage

The audience is very much in keeping of that of Susan Boyle, who shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in April 2009 after she subdued hecklers with a rendition of I Dreamed a Dream, from the musical Les Miserables.

Following the show, where she came runner-up to dance act Diversity, Miss Boyle was treated at the Priory clinic for exhaustion, but went on to find worldwide fame.

The former church volunteer, who lives alone with her cat in Blackburn, West Lothian, has since amassed a fortune of more than £10million after selling more than 16million copies of her three albums to date.

The singer – nicknamed SuBo - was named one of top music money makers of 2011 by American magazine Billboard after earning a staggering £3 million alone ($4,770,339) last year. She is now one of the most successful recording artists ever.

Outspoken: Amanda Holden, pictured laving her today, made a sly dig at former judge Kelly Brook, as she compared her to new judge Alesha Dixon, saying 'Alesha has a brain'

Amanda Holden has put her weight behind new Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, by having a dig at short-lived judge Kelly Brook.

Model Kelly, 32, was secretly hired by Simon Cowell to sit on the panel in 2009, but axed after two days with the music mogul saying the show was too slow with four judges.

But veteran judge Amanda believes former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha, 33, will last longer.

Comparing the two women, the 40-year-old said: 'You'll have to talk to Simon about Alesha, he booked her, but I think she’s probably got something else – a brain.'

The pair, along with Simon and the fourth judge, comedian David Walliams, attended the first auditions for the new series in Salford yesterday.
David also chimed in on the Kelly fiasco.

Mellow yellow: Alesha, arrives at the Lowry Theatre in Salford, was repotedly lured to the show from Strictly Come Dancing by a £350,000 pay check

'When Kelly did the show, she asked Ant and Dec what they did on it.' he told The Sun.

'I have seen the show, so I haven't made that mistake - I've learned which is Ant and which is Dec, so I should be fine.

'The others have all judged before. I haven't but, you know, it should be OK. How hard can it be?'

And when asked about Kelly, Simon added: 'I think that was a whole different situation because we didn’t tell anyone, not even the other judges and Ant and Dec didn’t know.

'This time everyone is on board, they’re getting on fine, we won’t see a repeat of that.'

Kelly was a judge alongside Piers Morgan, Simon and Amanda in 2009 with a reported £200,000 contract.

Moved on: Kelly was only on the show for two days in 2009, with Simon Cowell, Amanda and Piers Morgan, but was axed when Simon said it was too slow with four judges

But after reviewing tapes over the weekend, show producers decided the new format was 'too complicated' with four people on the panel, it was reported.

Simon said in a statement at the time: 'I have genuinely enjoyed working with Kelly, she is absolutely lovely and a complete professional.

'But its become clear the format doesn't support another judge and we will never add a fourth judge to the panel.'

A spokesman for production company Talkbackthames added: 'The format of the show is cleaner and less complicated with just three judges, which was not fully appreciated ahead of filming.

'Producers reviewed the tapes over the weekend and although Kelly brings a huge amount of warmth to the show and we've loved having her on board, the complications it adds to the filming process and format of the show means that unfortunately, and with huge regret, we have agreed with ITV not to proceed with a fourth judge.'

Kelly was apparently left 'stunned' by the decision, according to the Daily Mirror.

Alesha was reportedly lured to the show from Strictly Come Dancing by Simon with a £350,000 pay check.

Surprisingly, Strictly host Bruce Forsyth said today he thought it was a good move.
'We're going to miss her tremendously, but I think she will be great on that show,' he said.

'She'll get more exposure and be heard more. She'll have a chance to show off her great sense of humour. I think she will do marvellously.'

He said he did not feel let down by her.

'Not in the slightest. It may be called showbusiness, but I'm not sure people always realise that it has always been more "business" than "show".'

Alesha was pictured leaving her hotel in manchester today, looking gorgeous in a blue and white dress, while Amanda showed off her baby bump in a tight long-sleeved number.
