Party people: Declan Donnelly was seen leaving the ITV Summer Party on Wednesday night with Sky Sports girl Charlotte Jackson

He dumped his last girlfriend Georgie Thompson because he apparently wasn't ready to settle down - but it hasn't stopped Declan Donnelly partying with her best friend.

The 35-year-old Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity host was seen smiling broadly as he left the ITV Summer Party in London yesterday with Charlotte Jackson who bears an uncanny resemblance to his former girlfriend.

She's not only his ex's closest pal, but a Sky Sports presenter too and blonde to boot.

Why so bashful? Charlotte seemed sheepish as she strode out of the Notting Hill bash a few steps ahead of Dec, as he walked behind with former EastEnders star Brook Kinsella

Charlotte meanwhile looked like the cat who'd got the cream as she left the posh do in Notting Hill in a pretty yellow summer dress with beige peep toes to get into a car with Dec, along with Paddy McGuinness and former EastEnders star turned knife crime campaigner Brook Kinsella.

There has been no comment yet about the pair's relationship from Dec's spokesperson.

However, her body language at the very least indicates that they're good friends.

Charlotte joined Sky Sports as a presenter two years ago, where Georgie immediately took her under her wing.

Georgie, who has been at the station for 10 years, was left heartbroken when she was dumped by Dec in May.

She maintained a dignified silence on the split for two months, until she revealed last month that their two year relationship had ended because Dec didn't want to settle down, saying: 'It's been painful.'

'It was painful': Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson, seen here last month, was dumped by Dec in April

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: 'At the moment, the party line is that we’re really good friends and really support each other.

'But it’s been tough, it’s really tough. It’s a really hard thing to live out a painful break-up when you’re in the public eye. It hurts but we have to be grown-up.'

She also still appeared to harbour a hope that they might get back together at some point, saying: 'I don't know. Who knows?'

Happier times: Georgie and Declan looked every inch the perfect couple as they posed for pictures at the BAFTA TV Awards last summer

A few months before they broke-up, Georgie said things had been going great with her and Donnelly.

She gushed: 'We have so much in common. Things are going brilliantly. I come from a happy home, so I want marriage and kids. I want a football team worth of kids!'

But friends said he was reluctant to settle down and one added: 'Dec didn’t feel ready for marriage and babies.'

'It was painful': Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson broke her silence over her split with Declan Donnelly at a pre-Wimbledon party this week

She was dumped by boyfriend Declan Donnelly after he told her he wasn't ready to settle down.

Having maintained a dignified silence in the two months that followed, Georgie Thompson has finally opened up to talk about the break-up.
She said: 'It's been painful.'

Donnelly, 35, called time on their two-year relationship in April and apart from a brief statement on her Twitter thanking fans for their support, this is the first time she has spoken about her heartache.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: 'At the moment, the party line is that we’re really good friends and really support each other.

'But it’s been tough, it’s really tough. It’s a really hard thing to live out a painful break-up when you’re in the public eye. It hurts but we have to be grown-up.'

The Sky Sports presenter was speaking at a pre-Wimbledon party held in west London this week, and she looked stunning in a short gold lace dress.

Happier times: Georgie and Declan looked every inch the perfect couple as they posed for pictures at the BAFTA TV Awards last summer

When asked if there was any chance she and the Britain’s Got Talent host would get back together, she said: 'I don’t know. Who knows?

'At the moment, my focus is on work. To be honest, the reality is we’re both grown-ups, and trying to be pretty mature about the whole thing.'

And Georgie said she would never say a bad word against Donnelly, even though she told friends the split came like a 'bolt out of the blue'.

She said: 'We’re in the public eye and have a responsibility to be fair post-anything that may have happened.'

Support: Georgie put her troubles behind her as she partied with friends Kirsty Gallacher and Louise Redknapp at the Glamour Awards earlier this month

A few months before they broke-up, Georgie revealed that things were going great with her and Donnelly.

She said: 'We have so much in common. Things are going brilliantly. I come from a happy home, so I want marriage and kids. I want a football team worth of kids!'

But friends said he was reluctant to settle down and one added: 'Dec didn’t feel ready for marriage and babies.'
