She may have flown in from Los Angeles just hours earlier after a whirlwind trip Stateside, but there was no sign of jetlag on a glowing Cheryl Cole's face on Saturday.

The singer, 29, was dressed in her best as she met fans at an intimate book signing for her autobiography My Story at a central London hotel.

The Girls Aloud star showed off a hint of her flat stomach in an unusual dress with nude crossover wrap top and ruched orange skirt.

'And who's this to?' Cheryl signs a copy of her autobiography for a fan

The Geordie star teamed her look with a pair of spiked nude heels and dangling earrings, with her hair swept back into a high ponytail.

Only a select group of fans and just one photographer were in attendance for the Waterstone's signing event at the Corinthia Hotel - which is where the X Factor contestants are staying.

The lucky fans who got the chance to meet Cheryl at the exclusive two-hour event had bought limited £20 tickets, which includes a copy of the book.

That's a lot of Cheryl! The singer poses alongside a giant poster of her book sleeve

The signing meant Cheryl was back to her solo artist persona after spending the past few weeks reunited with her Girls Aloud bandmates.

Unfortunately, the five-piece's comeback track Something New was pipped to the No.1 spot in the UK singles chart by Olly Murs.

Following heavy promotion of the single on Children In Need, Strictly Come Dancing and the Royal Variety Show, Cheryl has spent the past few days in Los Angeles.

No sign of jetlag: The 29-year-old singer looked full of energy despite having flown in from LA that morning

It's been reported she paid a visit to former boss Simon Cowell's mansion, prompting speculation she could return to X Factor UK.

However, a source told the MailOnline: 'They have met a few times in the last 18 months and have remained in contact. They were just shooting the breeze and catching up.'

Accompanying Cheryl on the trip was her American boyfriend Tre Holloway.

We're used to seeing her strutting her stuff on stage in a series of sexy ensembles which showcase her incredible figure in all its glory.

But Cheryl Cole was virtually unrecognisable as she made her way through Los Angeles' LAX Airport on Friday with her boyfriend Tre Holloway in tow.

Attempting to go incognito as she touched down in sunny California, the 29-year-old singer donned a pair of sexy specs and covered up in a giant fur-trimmed parka jacket.

Joker: Cheryl Cole looked virtually unrecognisable in sexy specs and a furry parka as she made her way through Los Angeles' LAX Airport with boyfriend Tre Holloway on Friday

With her face barely visible as she giggled away with her backing dancer beau, the Girls Aloud star seemed to be having a whale of a time as the evidently smitten couple made their way through the airport.

The Geordie beauty looked a far cry from her usual preened and polished appearance, opting for a casual ensemble for her transatlantic flight.

Cheryl wrapped up warm in a cosy cream cowl-neck jumper, which she teamed with baggy ripped jeans and an 80s-style printed parka with cute fur detail around the sizeable hood.

Giggling: The 29-year-old singer couldn't keep the smile off her face as she attempted to go incognito in her cover-up

Keeping it casual: Cheryl opted for comfort on her transatlantic flight, wearing a cosy cream cowl-neck jumper, baggy ripped jeans and an 80s-style printed parka with cute fur detail

The Call My Name singer completed her airport look with a pair of black buckle boots and an adorable patterned bobble hat, which would have been perfect for a Bonfire Night celebration back in the UK.

Meanwhile, Tre - who was looking at his leading lady adoringly as they made their way through the terminal - kept it equally casual in a red woollen hat, checked shirt, grey jeans and Converse trainers.

There's no wonder Cheryl seems to be smiling a lot of late, with her career seeming to go from strength to strength.

On fire: Cheryl's career seems to be going from strength to strength at the moment, with the star reportedly in talks to front her own chat show

As well as recently completing a sell-out solo tour of the UK, the star released her debut autobiography last month, and recently announced plans to reunite with the rest of Girls Aloud for a comeback tour and album.

And Cheryl could be set to make a triumphant return to the small screen following her sacking from the US X Factor in 2011.

The singer is in talks to sign a 'lucrative deal' with Sky1 to front her own chat show, with television bosses hoping her personable nature could see her follow in the footsteps of US chat show queen, Oprah Winfrey.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: 'Sky1 are desperate to get Cheryl to sign up. They’ve been in talks for a while and believe they will have wrapped up the deal within the next month.'

From her fashion choices to her chart-topping hits, the nation's sweetheart can currently do no wrong and she has an army of loyal fans backing her every move.

But there is one person who isn't in the Cheryl Cole fan club, and whose already sour relationship with the star just took an even more bitter turn.

The 29-year-old singer has revealed that she will never again work with outspoken designer Julien Macdonald who branded her a 'chav' and told her that her newly-coloured red hair looked terrible at mutual friend Sarah Harding's Halloween party two years ago.

Cheryl Cole has admitted that she will never work with designer Julien Macdonald again after he insulted her style

In friendlier times Cheryl Cole, Julien MacDonald and Nicola Roberts spent time together at the Julien MacDonald Catwalk Show in 2007

'You have no idea how he ranted and raved. It was at a time when I was really fragile and vulnerable. I was, like, you have no idea what I'm going through.

'I will never have a working relationship with that man again,' she said in a candid interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine.

Cheryl, who even attended the designer's show before their argument, was told to sack her stylist by the 41-year-old Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model judge.

While Julien was the one who designed the slashed military suit that Cheryl made a fashion hit in her number one song Fight For This Love, the pair's friendship has most certainly fizzled.

Julien Macdonald insulted Cheryl's red hair and told her she needed a new stylist ... the star ditched the hair dye and did hire a new stylist to help revamp her image, but still finds the designer's comments upsetting

Prior to the argument, Cheryl was a big fan of the designer and often wore his pieces which she received much acclaim for

From dazzling trousers to revealing dresses, the star regularly wore Julien's designs on the X-Factor

Her new favourite designer is Henry Holland, who she met through band mate Nicola Roberts and she also has a penchant for Balenciaga and Guiseppe Zanotti which she picks up on designer clothes site Net-a-porter.

Famed for her trim figure, Cheryl also dished on how she is able to fit in to her favourite designer clothes: she feasts daily on fresh Japanese food delivered to her Hertfordshire home by the A-list adored restaurant Nobu.

But, like all good super slimline celebrities, Cheryl also admitted to having a very sweet tooth.

'The sicklier the better. When I'm good, I'm very, very good, but when I'm naughty, I'm naughty in the extreme,' admitted the star whose weaknesses are sticky toffee pudding, peanut brittle and banoffee pie.

Julien even designed the military outfit that Cheryl put on the fashion map in Fight For This Love

There is no stopping Cheryl, who recently announced her reunion with fellow Girls Aloud band members

It had been a week of triumphs, with her solo tour drawing to a close and Girls Aloud announcing their long-awaited comeback.

But Cheryl Cole suffered the ultimate embarrassment as she took to the stage during the Stand Up To Cancer charity telethon on Channel 4 on Friday night.

Although there's no doubt the 29-year-old singer looked stunning as she opened the show, she experienced an epic fail when it came to her sound.

Scroll down for video

What happened? Cheryl Cole's mic appeared to fail as she took to the stage to open Stand Up To Cancer

As she took to the stage ready to perform her heart out for the good cause, it would appear that only the backing track to Call My Name was playing.

While the cause of the apparent mic failure is unknown, fans were left baffled as Cheryl appeared to be whispering along to her track for the entire first half of the track.

It was clear the pop princess was aware of the gaffe, as she looked a far cry from her usual sparky self - and seemed to be hiding beneath her hair extensions for most of the performance.

Cringe: The singer looked visibly embarrassed as she realised she couldn't be heard over her backing track

Live TV: Some viewers accused Cheryl of miming

Around halfway through the track, the sound appeared to kick in, with Cheryl's voice finally audible above the backing track.

Despite the huge technical blunder, the Geordie beauty performed her dance routines flawlessly and looked stunning as she showed off her washboard abs in a black leather-look bralet.

Evidently keen to reassure Cheryl, host Davina McCall rushed on stage to give her a huge hug.

And as the brunette bombshell visibly cringed, Davina made sure to make her feel better about the embarrassing situation.

Sound problems: Cheryl's voice was only audible halfway through the performance

Professional: Cheryl continued with her flawless dance moves, despite the technical issues

She said: 'Tonight is about making a difference, and that's what's important.'

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told MailOnline: 'Unfortunately with the nature of live TV you sometimes have glitches and this was the case with Cheryl’s mic in the opening number and was rectified as soon as possible.'

But viewers weren't quite so forgiving as they took to Twitter to rant about the performance.

Brushing it off: Cheryl hit back at people who made cruel comments about her performance on her Twitter page

One wrote: '#StandUpToCancer Cheryl Cole can't even mime to her own track! Still at least she was on first so hopefully no more of her 'singing'.'

Another added: '100% proof Cheryl Cole can't sing. Live performance on ch4. Most awkward performance of her life.'

'Wow Cheryl Cole that was actually dreadful. Think she was miming without the song turned up hahaha epic fail!' another wrote.

Reassuring: Host Davina McCall attempted to make Cheryl feel better about the awkward situation

Concerned: Cheryl's usually dazzling smile was nowhere to be seen

Meanwhile, others were quick to blame sound engineers for the incident.

One viewer tweeted: 'Cheryl Cole cannot sing live to save her life..despite the sound engineer f***ing up big time.'

Another added: 'Anyone else see Cheryl Cole miming her a*s off on Stand up to cancer?so funny! Someone's for the sack, for not pressing play on the backing track.'

However, feisty Cheryl hit back at those who had made negative comments about her performance, insisting it's the Stand Up To Cancer cause that matters in the grand scheme of things.

Brushing the incident aside, she wrote on her Twitter page: 'I really dn't feel upset abt the tec issues during my performance and chat.. I just hope every1 commenting on it has done their part 4 the cause. (sic)'

Carrying on: Davina and Cheryl made sure to complete their piece to camera like true professionals, despite the blunder

It was just last week that she was involved in a car accident that left her with a bloody nose and her arm in a sling.

But Cheryl Cole looked back at her best as she made a very revealing appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, by wearing an extremely low cut top.

The 29-year-old looked sensational as she walked on to the set of the popular television show in her trendy all black jumpsuit.

Hidden agenda: Cheryl Cole opted to wear a low cut black jumpsuit as she appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show

The Fight For This Love singer sported a slicked back hairdo with her long brunette locks gelled down into a ponytail.

Cheryl certainly didn't look as if she was still shaken from the car crash and was full of confidence as she joked her way through a gruelling interview with funnyman Jonathan.

The singer kept her make-up simple with dark eyeliner and mascara giving her a smokey eye effect as she just about kept her cleavage hidden behind the deep cut outfit.

Great shape: Cheryl looked sensational in the outfit as she took to the stage full of confidence with her slicked back hair

Peace be with you: Cheryl said she is in a happy place at the moment but would not confirm she was dating new man Tre Holloway

She completed the outfit with a pair of black high heels after opening the show with a short burst of song before getting down to the nitty-gritty.

Although she has recovered from the crash she told Jonathan that she said to Will.i.am: 'Well that was a f****** stupid thing to do', before joking that she would never let him drive her again.

With her music career going from strength to strength, Cheryl is also planning on releasing her autobiography soon to silence critics and answer some much asked questions.

Chit chat: The singer got down to some serious talk with Jonathan Ross as the pair got close on his sofa

The future is bright: Cheryl has fully recovered from her accident and is planning on releasing her autobiography

Centre stage: Cheryl looked amazing in her all black outfit and completed the ensemble with some dark make-up

She said: 'I don’t talk a lot. I'm just sick of other people's s*** to be perfectly honest so I wanted to say my own s***.'

With a lot of revelations set to be revealed in the book Cheryl, who plans on keeping on her Mrs C tattoo, warned Ashley in advance about it.

She said: 'I didn’t have to but I let him know it was happening. I just thought it would be nice that I gave him the heads up so he can leave the country two weeks before.'

Opening number: The star kicked off the show with a short burst of music flanked by her female dancers

She's never been one to shy away from a trend.

So when it came to choosing an outfit for the Fashion's Night Out event in London last night (Thursday), Cheryl Cole decided to try her luck with the celebrity favourite peplum dress.

However, showing that she never does anything by halves, Cheryl, 29, opted for a double peplum choice as she attended the event at the Giuseppe Zanotti Design store on Sloane Street.

She never does a trend by halves! Cheryl Cole opted for a double peplum dress as she attended the Fashion's Night Out even at the Giuseppe Zanotti Design store on London's Sloane Street

Dressed to impress: Cheryl paired the dress, which had sexy cut-out detailing on the back, with a pair of grey and black T-bar court shoes

The Girls Aloud singer wore a black velvet and lace number, which featured a peplum detail both on the waist and around the bottom as she posed up for photographers outside the store.

While the dress appeared very modest from the front, when Cheryl turned around she gave a cheeky glimpse of her toned figure with sexy cut-out details.

The dress, which was finished off with a visible zip running down the back, also featured a sexy split to make it easier to walk in the tight outfit.

Fierce! Cheryl wore her hair in a high ponytail with some backcombing detail on the crown, and kept her make-up simple with smoky eyes and a nude lip

Smiles all round: Cheryl looked in good spirits, and beamed for the cameras as she made her way into the store

Cheryl teamed her dress with a pair of grey and black pointed T-bar court shoes.

The pretty brunette star finished off her ensemble by wearing her hair tied back in a high ponytail, leaving her make-up simple with smoky eyes and a nude lip.

Cheryl has been getting back on track following a car crash last week which left her wearing a sling to protect her injured arm.

Best of friends: Cheryl posed up with designer Giuseppe Zanotti inside the store

What a gentleman! Giuseppe took charge of leading Cheryl safely to her car at the end of the night

She had been in the car with friend and manager will.i.am, when the Black Eyed Peas star drove into a parked car while the pair were out for a takeaway at McDonald's.

Explaining the incident afterwards, Cheryl, who was seen with a bloodied nose after the crash, said that will.i.am was talking too much and not concentrating on his driving.

She said: 'He was talking the face off us... He was talking about Nasa and Mars and his song.'

After she was involved in a car accident with chatterbox manager Will.i.am, Cheryl Cole emerged the next day with her arm in a sling.

Clearly not taking any chances, last night (Wednesday) the plucky singer took charge of the wheel as she picked up her beau Tre Holloway after he enjoyed a night out to Mahiki.

Cheryl looked fresh-faced and ready for bed as Tre hopped in the car.

Not taking any chances: Cheryl Cole was pictured behind the wheel last night (Wednesday) as she picked up her boyfriend Tre Holloway from Mahiki in Mayfair, London

Tre wore a fitted cap with a sleeveless hooded denim jacket and a white T-shirt and looked grateful for the ride as he hopped in next to the chart-topping singer.

As he made his way towards the vehicle he was seen smiling and laughing with the photographers as he hurried along carrying two bags.

The Promise This singer appeared to be wearing a boob tube style top as she pulled her hair up in a messy bun.

As she pulled out of her parked position, Cheryl looked to be in deep concentration, making sure not to repeat Will.i.am's mistakes.

Date night: Cheryl Cole and Tre Holloway were pictured leaving Sumosan Japanese restaurant on Tuesday night

On Tuesday evening it looked like Cheryl was feeling 100 per cent again as she enjoyed a romantic date night with Holloway.

Free from her sling, the 29-year-old held hands with her dancer boyfriend, 27, as they left Japanese restaurant Sumosan in Mayfair.

The Girls Aloud star looked chic in a black leather pencil skirt, pink and black panelled top and high-heels as she dined out at the eatery.

After a busy week for the singer, who returned back from Los Angeles following her car accident with the Black Eyed Peas rapper, it seems the sit down meal was just what she needed.

As she promoted her new single Under The Sun wearing her left arm in a sling, she joked Will wasn't concentrating on his driving as he was too busy chatting away to her.

Glam: The 29-year-old singer wore a leather skirt, pink and black top and high-heels for her meal out

The Voice judge drove into a parked car while they were out for a takeaway at McDonald's.

Cheryl told Capital FM's Dave Berry that she actually only had to wear the sling for three days.

She explained: 'You know what, I think it's actually hurting more to have it in the sling than it does when it's not in there. I was just told to wear it for three days. I'm following doctor's orders.'

What a gent: The 27-year-old dancer held open the door as they exited the restaurant

Tuesday night was the first time Cheryl has been photographed with Tre for over two weeks.

Although the couple are thought to have started dating in March this year - Heat magazine recently claimed Cheryl started seeing Tre in March 2011 - five months after they danced together during her performance of Promise This on The X Factor.

Leading the way: The couple got into a waiting car back to Cheryl's home

Last year, Tre updated his Facebook page to say 'in a relationship', but then hid his relationship status after friends started questioning who his mystery girlfriend was.

The publication also alleged that the pair have been enjoying incognito dates in Los Angeles - where Tre is based - and London as often as possible.

Keeping things quiet: The couple have been rumoured to be dating either since March this year or even as far back as March 2011

For her last single Call My Name, Cheryl Cole went for a flamboyant urban look as she danced around the streets of LA.

But for her new single Under The Sun, the singer, 29, has slowed down the pace as she plays a Sixties siren in a retro, suburban video.

However, the singer shows off a bit more skin than women usually did in the Sixties with her bolero showing off her yellow bra underneath.

Scroll down to watch the video for the single

Sixties chic: Cheryl Cole goes for a retro style in her video for her new single Under The Sun

In a sneak peek at the Girls Aloud's new video, which doesn't premiere on Vevo until July 26, the brunette is seen walking through the streets of a suburban town past vintage cars and housewives doing their cleaning.

As she poses on the bonnet of an old grey car, it looks like Cheryl is surrounded by men in suits.

The vide has been directed by Anthony Mandler, who set the video in a world where thing's aren't always as they seem.

Lift me up: Cheryl is lifted off the ground by two hunky topless dancers

The new single was co-written by Cheryl and Alex da Kid, Mike Del Rio, Jayson DeZuzio, Steven Battey, Carlos Battey in Los Angeles earlier this year.

Under The Sun is her second release from her third album A Million Lights, which hit No.2 in the UK album charts earlier this year.

It follows on from her No.1 single Call My Name, which is the fastest selling single of the year so far.

Get along with you: It looks like the shopkeeper is trying to brush Cheryl away from the front of her store

Cheryl only released two singles from her second album Messy Little Raindrops - Promise This and The Flood - with the former being her second No.1 single.

During her three solo albums, Cheryl has only released a total of six solo singles, with Under The Sun set to be her seventh.

Meanwhile, the singer has been noticeably absent from her Twitter page for the past two weeks.

Get off my car: Cheryl reclines on an old green car, despite the driver sat in front

She last tweeted on July 6.

The Twitter absent may be linked to the death of her great-grandmother Nora Tweedy, who died on July 9.

The 90-year-old, who was the grandmother of Cheryl's father Gary, died of pneumonia following a stroke.

Under The Sun is released on single and to download on September 2.
