A magazine issued an apology over the weekend after printing photos of Britney Spears with a suspiciously low hairline that led people to believe she was wearing a wig.

But fortunately the singer was having a good hair day when she filmed an interview with Jay Leno.

The 30-year-old showed off her glossy blonde tresses after getting a fringe cut last week when she appeared on the Tonight show with her fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

Beautiful blonde: Britney Spears looked lovely for an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday

It wasn’t only her luscious locks that Britney displayed as she also showed some skin in a sexy ensemble.

The pop princess wore a cute patterned dress which revealed both her cleavage and her slim legs.

She was in a sunny mood as she chatted away with the veteran talk show host and her co-star.

The pair were promoting The X Factor ahead of the live shows which will kick off on November 1.

Last week Britney posted on her Twitter page: 'I'll be appearing with @SimonCowell on @JayLeno this Monday. Please TRY and behave yourself for once Simon... LOL'

Britney and Simon were seen visiting the Hollywood Hills home that the 16 finalists have just moved into on Friday.

After Britney’s odd cover shoot for Lucky magazine, in which her hairline was a good few inches lower than it should have been, the publication apologised to its readers.

But it was unclear exactly what they were saying sorry for.

Lucky’s official Twitter page posted the message: ‘Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on our cover! As always, we will share with our team and we're sorry to have let some of you down.’

Lucky do not actually admit that Britney is wearing a wig, but do clearly acknowledge that something is amiss with the photos.

Grin: Simon Cowell smiles like a Cheshire cat as he takes in his spectacular view

It hasn't been the easiest year for Simon Cowell.

But what better way for a multi millionaire media mogul to relax than hiring a luxury yacht and joining the St Bart's Caribbean celebrity set.

And it certainly looked like the 52-year-old's troubles sailed away onboard super yacht The Slipstream.

Tan-tastic view: Simon and friends look they have making use of the Slipstream's sun-pads

What a view! And that's just the exterior of Simon Cowell's preferred yacht

Chartering the 196ft yacht can cost between $450,000 and $900,000 a week but if like Cowell you are worth an estimated $130million the cost of pure relaxation is a drop in the ocean.

The X Factor creator was taking a well earned break from his luxury Caribbean break by chartering the yacht which comes complete with a crew of 12.

Cowell is rumoured to be onboard with fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy and a group of friends after taking his annual holiday in Barbados.

Life of luxury: The Slipstream, which costs $450,000 to hire for a week, would make most of us giddy with its facilities but for music mogul Simon Cowell it is par for the course

All play and no work: Rather than checking out the view Simon Cowell makes a quick phone call as he stands with a female friend

As Cowell relaxed in a pair of white beach shorts it looked like perhaps he had unwound a bit too much as his chest looked slightly sunburnt.

But with a heap of facilities sailors onboard the yacht have a host of activities to do rather than sunbathe.

Slipstream‘s stateroom features mirrors above a giant waterbed, a Jacuzzi, an observation lounge with panoramic views, gym and a sky lounge with a retractable roof.

Cover up: Simon Cowell covers his slightly red chest onboard the boat while his crew clean up

The ultimate relaxation aids: Simon Cowell chills with a cigarette and a copy of Top Gear magazine

A different type of view: Simon enjoys an article on Victoria's Secrets model Lily Aldridge onboard his luxury yacht

Slipstream’s interiors are neo-Art Deco combining “dark ebony joinery and red leather paneling.”

The sun-deck is features a spa, sun-pads, bar with BBQ and al-fresco dining area, and Sipstream comes equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment system including video on demand as well as a satellite communications center.

Although the Slipstream is the largest yacht ever launched by France’s CMN Shipyard it isn't the flashiest boat chartered by celebrities.

Can't keep still: Simon looked a little restless as he got up from the leather covered seats

Catch some rays: Even the most stressed out millionaire would relax with this view

Mirrored ceiling: Simon Cowell can check out his tan as he lies down with a special ceiling mirror in the master bedroom

Bigger than a hotel: Simon Cowell could have invited 13 of his friends onboard the yacht which is bigger than most people's homes

Diddy’s iPad powered Solemates is 12 inches longer and cheaper too even with private chef and other amenities.

Cowell, who has spent the past seven months in the U.S., was relaxing before the Britain's Got Talent auditions start.

He has said he is returning to the nations favourite talent show because he missed ‘the British public’.

This year’s winner, as well as performing at the Royal Variety Performance, would receive a prize of £500,000 – with him putting up half the money.

In contrast, last year’s winner Jai McDowall received just £100,000.

Cowell, 52, said: ‘I miss Britain, and I miss the British public, and I miss judging them.’

Biggest boat in town: Cowell's yacht took pride of place in the marina in Saint Barth's

It's official! Cheryl Cole WILL be a judge on the U.S. version of X Factor

By Sarah Fitzmaurice

I'm in! Cheryl Cole is excited to be heading stateside for the U.S. version of the show where she will sit next to Simon Cowell and LA Reid on the judging panel

After months of speculation the wait is finally over it- it has been confirmed that Cheryl Cole WILL be appearing as a judge on the U.S. version of The X Factor.

In a statement released today the British singer is confirmed as a judge on the talent show - joining Simon Cowell and Antonio 'L.A.' Reid on judging panel.

Cheryl, 27, has already voiced her excitement about the new role searching for the talent America has to offer and said she is ready to battle it out against Simon on the first series of the U.S. show.

Cheryl said: 'I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I absolutely love it here in the U.K., and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special.'

She added: 'I can’t wait to get started. I just can’t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me.'

'He’s tried to beat me for three years in the U.K., and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.'

Ready for battle: Cheryl can't wait to get the first series of the American version of the X Factor show underway and is looking to beat Simon Cowell as she has in the U.K. show

Simon, who has championed the Geordie singer in the U.S, said: I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with.'

He added: 'She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent.'

Today's announcement ends months of speculation over whether Cheryl's Newcastle accent would prove problematic for viewers across the pond and Fox bosses have sang the Parachute singer's praises.

Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company said: 'She’s an incredibly talented artist and performer, as well as a style icon, and she has that special charisma that draws in fans around the world.'

'Cheryl’s charm and chemistry with Simon have been a key part of the overwhelming success of ‘The X Factor’ in the U.K., and we can’t wait to welcome her to the U.S. on our air.'

Executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said: 'As a young artist whose talent show discovery led to almost immediate stardom, Cheryl’s career exemplifies the promise of The X Factor.'

Great chemistry: Fox bosses have praised Cheryl's talent as a judge and have said America will love the way she interacts with Simon Cowell

'Her empathy and passion for identifying and nurturing undiscovered talent has made her a huge hit with British audiences, and I have no doubt America will fall in love with her beauty, her accent and her incredible chemistry with Simon Cowell.'

Cheryl has proved a skilled judge winning the U.K. version of the show twice first in 2008 with Alexandra Burke and in 2009 with Joe McElderry.

While many were worried about her lack of profile in the U.S. it has also been reported that her son Parachute will be featured on the hit musical show Glee - who have covered hit songs by Rihanna, Madonna and Britney Spears.

The confirmation about her X Factor role comes just days before auditions are held this Sunday, May 8, in specially built high-definition recording studios in Honolulu, HI; Phoenix, AZ; Nashville, TN; Anchorage, AK; Kansas City, KS; and Denver, CO

Auditions will continue in Dallas, TX, on Thursday, May 26.

The U.S. version of the X Factor is set to be the biggest and best yet with the winner scooping a recording contract worth $5 million.
