The look of love: Penelope Cruz and actor husband Javier Bardem only have eyes for each other as they sit courtside at the LA Lakers game yesterday

It wasn't the most romantic or festive place to spend a cosy Christmas Day.

But Penelope Cruz didn't even notice her sporting surroundings as she kissed and cuddled up to husband Javier Bardem at the basketball yesterday.

The actress, who is six months pregnant with the couple's first child, looked very loved up as she and Bardem smooched in their courtside seats at the LA Lakers vs Miami Heat match yesterday.

The 36 year old actress only had eyes for her 41-year-old actor spouse although she did managed to tear her eyes away from her beloved as she caught up on the game on the big screens.

She looked happy and healthy with a gorgeous pregnancy glow as she and Bardem chatted and kissed as the game was played out next to them.

Penelope was then warmly greeted by Miami Heat team president Pat Riley, who took her hand and chatted to her and Bardem.

The couple, who started dating in 2007 and married in July this year, were among a number of celebrities that had put the festivities on hold and headed to the Staples Center in Los Angeles to watch the Lakers get beaten 80-96 by Miami Heat.

Regular Lakers attendee Cameron Diaz was there having flown back from her Christmas break with baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

She chatted to fans outside the stadium and then was seen cheering on her team from her seat.

She appeared to be on her own but she greeted and chatted with Curb Your Enthusiasm star and writer Larry David as he took his seat.

Other famous fans at the game yesterday included rapper Kanye West and Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am.

Although seated separately from each other, they stopped and chatted and shared a joke together before West, 33, took his seat and will-i.am, 35, was interviewed courtside.

Other celebrities giving up a few hours of their Christmas Day to cheer on their team included veteran actors Dustin Hoffman and Sylvester Stallone, singer Lionel Richie who brought his daughter Sophia, and actor Jeremy Piven.

It was the 12th nationally televised game that the Lakers have played on Christmas Day, 11 of which were under coach Phil Jackson.

Last week, he moaned about the festive fixture and said: 'It’s like Christian holidays don’t mean anything to them anymore. We just go out and play and entertain the TV. It’s really weird.

'Your little kids are putting batteries in toys to put their Christmas presents together, there’s all kinds of crazy stuff going on and now your head’s got to get focused on a game in the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Day? That game is just real hard to measure how to bring focus to it.'
