Motor-mouth: Cheryl Cole is set to land her own chat show on Channel 4


Since she was very publicly given the boot from the X Factor USA we haven't heard too much from her.

But Cheryl Cole may be about to get chins wagging with a brand new chat show on Channel 4.

The Fight For This Love singer will take her first tentative steps into presenting with a show which is provisionally called Late Night With Cheryl.


A TV insider told Star magazine: 'They know she'll be a massive ratings winner and is the perfect fit to pull in amazing guests.'

The 28-year-old has been inundated with offers to get her face on screen but this opportunity seems the best fit.

The source said: 'There have been a few film roles and scripts sent to her from Hollywood that are being considered.

'She's being hankered after to work on new music with US acts like Nicki Minaj, thanks to their mutual friend will.i.am.'

The chat show will take on a magazine style format and will feature some big name celebrity guests.

The girl Geordie, who has her own footwear collection, will also have a fashion and style segment on the show.

Cole may be busy this year as her TV career begins to take off but her she has a clear order of what her top priorities are.

Meanwhile, it appears Simon Cowell has a new favourite female in his life.

The music mogul has secured a deal to bring Alesha Dixon, 33, to Britain's Got Talent.

The former pop star stunned BBC executives yesterday morning by quitting the Corporation’s flagship Saturday evening programme.

Within hours, she was unveiled as a judge in the revamped BGT, which begins auditioning for contestants later this month.

Miss Dixon, 33, is said to be receiving £350,000 for her new job – believed to be three times her Strictly salary estimated at £100,000. Last night her manager Malcolm Blair insisted she had not moved for money. He said talks had been going on between ITV and Miss Dixon for the last ‘couple of weeks’.

Punk'd is back, and Khloe Kardashian is the hidden camera show's latest victim.

Miley Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne decide to play a little joke on the 27-year-old reality star in a preview for the series' upcoming season.

'[Khloe] thinks she's going to have girls hangout time and order food,' the 19-year-old Hannah Montana star explains in the teaser clip.

'And when the delivery guy shows up, he's going to ask to use my bathroom. He's going to get his [genitals] zipped into the zipper of his pants.'

She finishes: 'Khloe...you're going to get Punk'd!'

The casually dressed pals are already at Miley's upscale Los Angeles home when said delivery man arrives.

While her famous friends ineffectually look on, the E! star doesn't even flinch as she tells the man to lie down on the counter, as advised by the operator.

Former host Ashton Kutcher has stayed on as executive producer but decided to revive the series by featuring a different celebrity host 'punking' a different celebrity target each season.

The ninth season will premiere on MTV March 19, which will follow Justin Bieber punking Taylor Swift.

Other celebrity hosts will consist of Dax Shepard, Jackass star Bam Margera and Kellan Lutz.

The show will also differ in its latest reincarnation by taking viewers behind the scenes to reveal how the pranks are set up.

New claims that Leandro asked Katie to marry him

Giving things another go: Katie Price was seen being carried out of a London nightclub by ex-boyfriend Leandro Penna on Sunday night


They split last year following claims that the language barrier was leading to problems in their relationship.

But it seems Katie Price is giving it another go with Leandro Penna, and started 2012 with her Argentinian ex-boyfriend in a London nightclub.

Leandro was seen carrying Katie into a waiting cab following a 'raunchy' night out with the mother-of-three at the Kassaba Lounge.


While the pair's faces could not be seen, Katie was identified by her black furry boots as Leandro's silver jumper was also spotted.

And a source at the nightspot on Sunday night said Katie and Leandro were clearly enjoying each other's company.

The source told the Daily Mirror: 'It was quite raunchy. They kissed on the dancefloor during the night. They were very smoochy with each other.

Destined for each other? It remains to be seen whether Katie and Leandro will properly rekindle their relationship following their night together


Things have been hotting up between them for a few weeks. The party on Sunday had a bikini theme so there were lots of girls in skimpy swimwear but Leo only had eyes for Katie.

'They stayed until about 3am, when Leandro ended up carrying her out to the car.'
And it has also been claimed that Leandro proposed to Katie on Christmas Day.

Katie is quoted by The Sun as telling a friend: 'Leandro came to mine on Christmas Day and asked me to marry him. It was completely out of the blue. I don't know what to do.'

A source claimed to the paper: 'Leandro is desperate to get back together with Katie and doesn't care that she has been out and about with other men since they broke up.

'He holds a flame for her and obviously believes asking for her hand in marriage will sweep her off her feet. But unfortunately, he doesn't feature in Katie's plans.'

A call to Katie's representative has yet to be returned.

While Katie has remained resolutely silent on her Twitter page over the past few days, Leandro has posted a series of cryptic messages.

He tweeted: 'If someone is stupid enough to get away from you, be smart enough to let it tog.'

Leandro then added: 'Life is short - kiss slowly, laugh loudly, love deeply and forgive quickly.'

Katie and Leandro quickly sparked a relationship after meeting at Elton John's Oscars party in Los Angeles in February 2011, just weeks after her split from second husband Alex Reid.

She was previously married to Peter Andre, with whom she has two children, Junior and Princess, and she is also mother to son Harvey, from her relationship with Dwight York.

Which was clearly what the reality star was thinking as she got changed in front of pal Jonathan Cheban - to gauge whether or not he is gay.

The 30-year-old TV star was in the closet, so to speak, of her New York hotel and decided to carry out the 'test' after Kris Humphries gets her thinking about her friend's sexual orientation.

Eyes averted: Jonathan turns away when she gets changed, but Kim later wonders if he was just being polite as opposed to not finding her attractive


Kris is convinced PR guru Jonathan is homosexual - and tells him as much - but Kim is not so sure, saying they have never talked about his private life before.

The results of her little striptease - which aired last night in an episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York - are inconclusive, however. Jonathan averts his eyes when she strips to her bra.

But later Kim tells Kris: 'I got changed in front of him to see if he would look but he didn't.'

While Kris sat there looking bored, Jonathan appeared to enjoy perusing all the scented products on offer, which Humphries finds odd.

Whatever the case, Jonathan was last week spotted in Miami soaking up the sun with a mystery brunette where they put on an affectionate display.

Alesha Dixon is leaving Strictly Come Dancing – for Simon Cowell’s ITV show Britain’s Got Talent.

The former pop star stunned BBC executives yesterday morning by quitting the Corporation’s flagship Saturday evening programme.

Within hours, she was unveiled as a judge in the revamped BGT, which begins auditioning for contestants later this month.

A BBC executive, who learned of her exit only when told by the Mail, said he was surprised at the station’s decision.

He said: 'Alesha took a while to bed in at Strictly so I’m surprised ITV decided to book her.'

Another BBC insider said: 'Strictly is bigger than Alesha. We gave her her big break.'

Miss Dixon rose to fame in pop band Mis-Teeq, then won Strictly as a contestant before becoming a judge on the show.

Last night there were whispers she had quit because she wants to record an album and promote it in the autumn, when Strictly is on. This latest job would allow her that opportunity.

Whatever her motivation, the signing and financial outlay mark a huge investment by ITV and Cowell.

Both BGT and The X Factor, Strictly’s big rival, were hit by reduced ratings last year.

As they were: Cowell and Amanda Holden will be back for the new series, but David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre will not


The last series of BGT was the first in which Cowell was not a judge throughout the show, returning only for the live finals.

Two judges – former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and comedian Michael McIntyre – were hired to replace Cowell and Piers Morgan, alongside Amanda Holden.

However, neither proved a success and left after just one series.

Miss Dixon will join a returning Cowell, Miss Holden and comedian David Walliams in the revamped line-up. Walliams is believed to be receiving £800,000 for his role.

In September 2010, there had been speculation linking Miss Dixon with a move to Cowell’s team on The X Factor.

However, she eventually signed to stay with Strictly, which enjoyed one of its most successful series.

Yesterday, Miss Dixon said: ‘I am delighted to be joining the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent for 2012. It’s a fantastic show and I am very excited to be working with Simon, David and Amanda on the search for a new star.’

Cowell added: ‘I love Alesha. She is feisty, opinionated and knows what it’s like to be both a competitor and judge on a hugely popular TV show.’

Cowell, who has spent the past seven months in the U.S., insisted he was returning to BGT because he missed ‘the British public’.

He also revealed this year’s winner, as well as performing at the Royal Variety Performance, would receive a prize of £500,000 – with him putting up half the money.

In contrast, last year’s winner Jai McDowall received just £100,000.
Cowell, 52, said: ‘I miss Britain, and I miss the British public, and I miss judging them.’

Elaine Bedell, ITV director of entertainment and comedy said:'‘There’s no head judge quite like Simon Cowell. And I’m delighted David and Alesha will be joining Simon and Amanda on the panel.'

Who will replace her? Who will sit with Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli?


A BBC spokesman said: 'Alesha has had three really successful series of Strictly and we wish her well in the future.'

In a statement explaining her departure from Strictly, Miss Dixon said: 'After three incredible years on the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel I have decided that it is time to move on.

'Strictly Come Dancing will always hold a special place in my heart as it has been such an amazing experience, both as a winning competitor and as a judge.

'I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the show, the production team, my fellow judges, and a very special thank you to the fans for their support.

'Music is my great passion and the reason for the other incredible opportunities that have come my way and I am looking forward to getting back into the studio and focusing on making a new record in 2012.'

The new judging line-up for Strictly is not expected to be announced until late spring or early summer.

However, last night an internet campaign had started to bring back former judge Arlene Phillips.

The 68-year-old was controversially axed for Miss Dixon in 2009, sparking accusations of ageism.

Other early names being touted include ballet dancer Darcey Bussell, former ladette Zoe Ball and Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey.

In 2008, Cowell said: 'Strictly Come Dancing p***es me off more than anything else. I would love it. I just wish I owned that show.'

After losing five stone, no wonder Jennifer Ellison is showing off her trim physique in the tightest of dresses.

And as she stepped out in Cheshire last night, the former Brookside actress revealed the turning point that made her decide to lose weight.

The TV star, 28, revealed a director at a theatre audition said she was 'too fat' for the part, which prompted her to overhaul her diet and start working out.


Ellison admitted the cutting remark as she celebrated New Year's with dinner and drinks at the Coterie Wine Bar in Widnes - where she lives with husband Robbie Tickle and their son Bobby, 23 months.

Now a svelte and toned size 8, Ellison certainly had the last laugh as she showed off her figure in a £109 CelebBoutique Kimmy Adelisa bandage dress and a pair of towering Christian Louboutin platform heels.

The former Hell's Kitchen winner, who is set to star on the new series of Dancing On Ice, piled on the pounds while pregnant with Bobby and struggled to lose the weight after as she battled with post-natal depression.

Although she was unhappy with her weight, it was an extra blow when her agent told her why she had missed out on a part she really wanted.

She told The Sun: 'My agent started off by telling me how sometimes we have to say things that are hurtful but that he wouldn't be doing his client justice if he didn't say it to them.

'Then he told me what the director had said about me. He said that I desperately needed to get back to my Chicago weight and that if I wanted to continue working in the West End I had to slim down.

'I felt so humiliated. I believed I had made a complete fool of myself in front of all those people at the audition. It was an awful time but I have to admit, that director did me a favour.'

The 5ft 7 star described herself as a 'hippo mamma' after she went from a size 8 to 18.

She lost some weight in 2010 after enrolling at boot camp in preparation for her nude scenes in the touring production of Calendar Girls.

But it wasn't until last year, she really started to conquer her weight battle.

She has now shared the secrets of her transformation in a new fitness DVD Jennifer Ellison's Fat Blaster Workout.

The new DVD, which is co-presented by celebrity personal trainer Elia Siaperas, sees Ellison go through a five step workout, including Fat Blaster, Tone Blaster, Box Blaster, Power Blaster and Belly Blaster.

But Michelle Keegan gave holidaymakers a New Year's Day treat as she stripped off to her bikini, revealing her incredible toned body.

The Coronation Street actress and her boyfriend Max George spent the first day of 2012 with his band mates from the Wanted, taking a sailing trip around Barbados.


The group were in the Carribbean to play a private New year's Eve concert with Rihanna at the plush Sandy Lane resort where Simon Cowell is staying.

Michelle, 24, boarded the boat in a cute floral white and pink dress, clinched at the waist with an elastic band, and a pair of black flip flops.

Max, 23, couldn't keep his eyes off his stunning fiancee as they walked up the beach.
