A magazine issued an apology over the weekend after printing photos of Britney Spears with a suspiciously low hairline that led people to believe she was wearing a wig.

But fortunately the singer was having a good hair day when she filmed an interview with Jay Leno.

The 30-year-old showed off her glossy blonde tresses after getting a fringe cut last week when she appeared on the Tonight show with her fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

It wasn’t only her luscious locks that Britney displayed as she also showed some skin in a sexy ensemble.

The pop princess wore a cute patterned dress which revealed both her cleavage and her slim legs.

She was in a sunny mood as she chatted away with the veteran talk show host and her co-star.

The pair were promoting The X Factor ahead of the live shows which will kick off on November 1.

Last week Britney posted on her Twitter page: 'I'll be appearing with @SimonCowell on @JayLeno this Monday. Please TRY and behave yourself for once Simon... LOL'

Britney and Simon were seen visiting the Hollywood Hills home that the 16 finalists have just moved into on Friday.

After Britney’s odd cover shoot for Lucky magazine, in which her hairline was a good few inches lower than it should have been, the publication apologised to its readers.

But it was unclear exactly what they were saying sorry for.

Lucky’s official Twitter page posted the message: ‘Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on our cover! As always, we will share with our team and we're sorry to have let some of you down.’

Lucky do not actually admit that Britney is wearing a wig, but do clearly acknowledge that something is amiss with the photos.

Fun was definitely had as Britney showed off her Neil Lane sparkler to all and sundry at the shindig.

The couple was toasted by their friends and family before their dinner at the Brasserie, where they shared a variety of pizzas, including the restaurant's popular chocolate pizza.

For dessert they dipped treats like cupcakes and gumdrops in a chocolate fountain.
After their meal, the newly engaged twosome walked through the Sugar Factory, where they picked out treats and presents for Britney's two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

Nice ice! Britney Spears showed off her engagement ring with new fiancé Jason Trawick at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas

She took to her Twitter page earlier in the day to tell fans she was 'still glowing' after boyfriend Jason Trawick asked her to marry him.

And Britney Spears couldn't have looked more radiant tonight as she showed off her engagement ring while hosting a party for her former agent beau to celebrate both their engagement and his birthday.

The 30-year-old singer donned her sparkling three carat Neil Lane diamond with pride as she posed up with her new fiancé at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Earlier in the day, Britney tweeted fans: 'Still glowing! About to jump on a plane to Planet Hollywood in Vegas.

'Throwing a Bday Party for Jason at Chateau Night Club. So fun. Xxoo'

Britney and Jason will be celebrating their engagement with a private gathering at the resort, before moving on to a celebratory dinner at the Chocolate Lounge at the Sugar Factory in the Paris Hotel before carrying on the festivities at a dance party at the Chateau nightclub.

The pair looked happy and excited as they made their way into the resort for the party, Britney beaming as she was congratulated by staff and fans.

Of course, Vegas is familiar territory for the singer - it is where her 55 hour marriage to first husband Jason Alexander began and ended.

The Hollywood agent asked for the pop star's hand in marriage in Los Angeles yesterday on his 40th birthday.

'Yes, we are engaged,' Trawick told Access Hollywood today.

Talking about the Neil Lane ring, an insider told Us Weekly: 'He picked out something he knew she would love.'

'He surprised her after she gave him his gifts and after they had cake last night,' another source adds.

The 30-year-old singer, who has just wrapped her Femme Fatale tour, hinted at the news this morning on her Twitter page.

They mixed business and pleasure again in September when she cast him to play her love interested in the video for her single Criminal.

This will be Britney's third marriage.

The star, who was 22 at the time, filed annulment papers just 55 hours later.

Six months later she became engaged to her backup dancer, Kevin Federline.

They went on to have two children together before officially divorcing in 2008.

Britney's love life has always been colourful - as a teenager she famously dated fellow former Mouseketeer and 'N Sync band member Justin Timberlake.

The pair split in March 2002 after a three-year romance that had fans and tabloids in a frenzy.

After they parted ways, Timberlake made reference to the pop star in the video clip to his hit, Cry Me a River.

The clip featured a Britney look-alike and the storyline fuelled rumours that she had cheated on him.

"[The breakup] was horrible,' Britney told People magazine.

'Very upsetting and it took a lot out of me. He was my first real love, and I doubt I'll ever be able to love anyone like that ever again.

'But I'd rather spend two days with my soulmate than the rest of my life with some guy who doesn't mean as much.'

Britney bares a whole lot of skin in risqué onstage outfits as the Femme Fatale tour hits London

By Holly Thomas

Baring (almost) all: Britney kicked off the London leg of her UK tour at the O2 last night with a selection of risque costumes

Britney Spears performed the first London concert of her UK tour last night- and the singer certainly made her presence felt.

Wearing a multitude of skimpy costumes, the 29-year-old paraded about the colourful stage showing off her stomach, legs, and as much else as she could get away with.

The singer bared a great deal of midriff throughout the show, at one point wearing only a pink sequined bikini top on her upper half, paired with the briefest of denim hot pants.

You want a piece of me? The 29-year-old showed off her midriff in almost every costume throughout her performance

Working up a sweat: Britney may well have been glad that she wasn't too wrapped up considering the amount of energetic dancing involved in the show

Still sporting a slightly curvier figure than she had earlier in her career, the Hold It Against Me star nevertheless looked well, and far fitter than she has in recent years.

Britney's panoply of costumes included a pink basque with black lace detail, which she initially covered with a long white skirt, only to rip it off, revealing fishnet-clad legs.

And whenever the singer donned a jacket- or in the case of an Egyptian-themed routine, a cape- it was swiftly removed to reveal as much as possible.

Feels so good being bad? The singer sang a version of Rihanna's hit S&M- which they have performed together before

Behind bars? Law and order was a theme which recurred throughout the show

Standing out: Britney's eye-grabbing white costume certainly made a contrast to her dancer's black uniform

Another ensemble, intended to echo the ambiance of Ancient Egypt, consisted of a gold bikini with matching boots and a cape- which was naturally removed in short order.

Britney also donned a policewoman-style hat and black leather cropped waistcoat (still baring her stomach) for a saucy rendition of Rihanna's S&M- which she performed with the Barbadian at the Billboard Awards in April.

Whipping her hair: The singer's dance routine made full use of her famous blonde locks

Wind caught your skirt? Britney seemed happy to reveal her pink basque- decorated with black lace-patterned detail

It was as though Britney had taken a few tips from the Umbrella star- who is famed for her risque stage outfits, since Britney's choices were every bit as revealing as any of Rihanna's.

The singer has taken to the UK with relish, and apparently made a few requests so as to feel more at home across the pond.

Drama: At one point Britney took on the character of an Egyptian pharaoh, with her dancers taking on the role of slaves

Historic attire? Britney's minute Egyptian-inspired gold bikini might not have been quite what the ancients wore

According to sources on the tour, Britney asked for portions of fish and chips and 100 figs and prunes.

Insiders have also claimed that the singer requested a photo of Princess Diana backstage at her UK gigs.

'Britney adores the monarchy, Diana was in many ways her inspiration. Also, she doesn't count calories when she's in Britain,' said the source.

Angelic? Britney sang a ballad backed by huge white wings- at odds somewhat with her black leotard and bare legs

Getting close: Britney's dancers looked ready to devour the star in her pink pleather suit

Toothpaste, McDonald's cheeseburgers minus the bread rolls and toothpaste were also part of her rider before she performed at London's The O2 last night

Britney has confessed in the past that she dreams of performing for Diana's son Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge should they wish to come and see while she is in the UK.

All together now: One one rare occasion Britney's dancers' ensembles matched hers

She said: 'I'm sure they're very, very busy, but if they could squeeze it in that would be amazing.'

'It would be amazing if they came to one of my concerts. That would be really crazy and cool. I think they're a beautiful couple.'

Coming off: As usual it didn't take long for the singer to remove her jacket
