'She's awesome. We're perfect and she's perfect': Max George gushes about Michelle Keegan after returning to the UK ~ dailyceleb

She recently won British Soap Awards Sexiest Female for the fourth time in a row so it's no wonder that Max George has insisted his relationship with Michelle Keegan is still on.

The Wanted singer - who has spent quite a lot of time away from his actress girlfriend due to work commitments - seemed pretty adamant that the couple are happy despite calling off their engagement last month.

Max, 23, was speaking on his return from the U.S. as he headed straight to Manchester to catch up with the Coronation Street star.

According to The Sun, Max was beaming when asked about 24-year-old Michelle, saying: 'She's awesome. We're perfect and she's perfect.'

While the leggy brunette has been busy playing Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap, Max has been with his band mates touring the U.S. and doing promotional work.

Many assumed that the couple's time apart was the reason behind their engagement being called off but it still came as a shock to their fans.

Out of the blue: The singer revealed that the couple had called off their engagement last month

Max unexpectedly revealed the news on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on KIIS FM last month.

When the presenter and his co-host Ellen K asked him about his relationship status, Ryan told Ellen that the star was engaged.

But, Max quickly corrected them and replied: 'No, no, no, not anymore.'

However, despite blurting the announcement out, Max was quick to reassure fans that he and Michelle were still together.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder: Max has been away from Michelle due to The Wanted working in the U.S.

Writing on his Twitter page shortly after the interview, he said: 'Hey everyone, so just to clear up any rumours, me and Shell are still very much together, just there is no wedding.

'The call got cut off.... And made it sound much worse.'

While The Wanted were in Los Angeles, they spent time filming a new music video meaning Max and the band were surrounded by pretty female models.

However, clearly this hasn't bothered Michelle as she's been spotted on the Coronation Street set getting on with her work and is making up for lost time with Max since he's been back.
