The morning after: Strictly Come Dancing champion Harry Judd emerged from his hotel this morning clutching his Glitterball trophy and girlfriend Izzy Johnston

They have been one of the most low-key couples in showbusiness.

But after Harry Judd's Strictly Come Dancing victory on Saturday and subsequent revelation that he plans to propose to girlfriend Izzy Johnston, the couple have been thrust firmly into the spotlight.

Photographers were waiting for the McFly drummer and his long-time love outside their hotel yesterday, and they happily obliged with big smiles and a kiss for the cameras.

The 25-year-old King of the dancefloor and his 27-year-old violinist girlfriend were dressed down for the journey home from Blackpool.

They both looked a little tired after celebrating well into the morning with Harry's fellow Strictly contestants and McFly bandmates.

The champion clutched his other trophy - a smaller replica of the dazzling Glitterball he was awarded with dance partner Aliona Vilani.

Bright future: Shortly after winning the series, the McFly drummer revealed his plans to propose to his long-time love

The musician was pictured arriving at the final after-party with his bandmate Dougie Poynter, who won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! just a few weeks ago.

After toasting his success, Judd retreated to his hotel room, where he let fans in on his cosy celebration.

He tweeted a picture of his Glitterball trophy, a bottle of water and a takeaway pizza, writing: 'People asked me what I would do tonight to celebrate....here's your answer.'

Tame: But the drummer soon retreated to his hotel room for a more cosy celebration

It seems after seeing so little of each other over the past few months, Harry was eager for some alone time with his girlfriend of six years.

Speaking to the Daily Star immediately after being crowned winner, Harry revealed that he is hoping for a 'romantic and spontaneous' proposal.

'We moved in together at the beginning of Strictly,' he told the paper. 'We are very settled together and talk about the future a lot.'

PDA: The couple were caught kissing on camera during the celebrations at the end of last night's final

'I absolutely know 100 per cent that in her I have found The One, and yes I do want marriage, kids, the whole deal with Izzy.'

The couple met back in 2005, when Izzy was a member of the string section during McFly's arena tour.

They have previously revealed how she was 'banned' from speaking to the drummer for the entire tour, but the pair got together during a party to celebrate the end of the tour.

The low-key couple kept their relationship under wraps for years due to McFly's enormous female fan base at the height of their fame, but it emerged when Izzy's group Escala rose to prominence on Britain's Got Talent.

The quartet, then known as Scala, made it to the final of the 2008 series.

Long term: The musical duo have been dating for six years after meeting on McFly's 2005 tour

Before last night's Strictly final, Izzy, a regular in the front row at the shows, tweeted: 'Good luck @AlionaVilani and @mcflyharry you are awesome and I will be screaming like never before! Mwah xxxx'

Judd told the Sunday Mirror: 'She always texts me just before I go on. I only get five minutes with her on show day.

'She has been through this whole experience with me.'

The musician was crowned the winner of the Strictly Come Dancing 2011, ahead of runner-up Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan, who was eliminated after the first half of the live show.
